April 16, 2010 New Video! Welcome back, sorry I've been so MIA lately. Been busy ;) But we got another video up! Click on "Donate" above and watch it. Trevin will thank you later. We will also have a new children's book out soon, so watch for it! The second Sun Trilogy book has been put on hold until I can get Rise of the Sun more openly known and there is a greater demand for The Sun Will Rise. It's a work in progress! Thanks for everyone's patience!
September 7, 2009 New Projects
Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know about a couple of new projects in the works. One you will find on the homepage of this site. We've started a "Hero Wall" to display all of you incredible people that have donated, shared the website/video, or bought my book "Rise of the Sun". If any of these apply to you, please send a photo that you wish to be displayed on our Hero Wall to: mandy321@gmail.com if you haven't donated yet in some way, please do so now so we can get you on there asap! The second project is a children's book series that you should expect to hear more about in the next few months. It's going to be something new for the middle grade kids (2nd-4th grade)! I'm so excited about it and I know the kids will be too! The Sun Will Fall is still being done, but when something calls to you, you gotta write it, whether you're busy or not! I hope you all will love this enough to forgive the couple month delay on book two in the Sun Trilogy! Thanks and talk to you all soon! Get those photos in!
July 22, 2009 New video!
As today is my birthday, I made a video of my son showing what Tourette's is like for us and for over 200,000 kids in the United States alone. My goal was to have as many people watch it as I could and to raise the awareness for Tourette Syndrome. I was also trying to raise money for a cure. In doing so, we had over 1,500 people watch this video and many have chosen to donate for this great cause! The response was overwhelming and I want to than every single one of you that watched, showed others or donated! It was incredible to see such a huge amount of people raise over $1,500.00 for Tourette's Syndrome in just one single day! I couldn't ask for a better birthday! To view the video and help with this cause, please click the link below. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for such an amazing day!
Another special thanks goes to Donnie Wahlberg (New Kids on the Block), Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight) and John Heffron (Comedian) for using their incredibly wide resources to help this great cause! Trevin thanks you for watching his video and he will forever remember your kind words. Thank you.
May 11, 2009 Kindle News!
I found out today that Rise of
the Sun can be bought on Kindle! How exciting! So all you Kindle
users--go get Rise of the Sun for only $7.99! What a fab deal! It's also shown up in places I never expected, Facebook for example, had it on it's app list for "books I've read". It's so oddly strange to see your name in so many places! Today has been a very good day in terms of progress. I finished an entire chapter this morning and can't seem to close my computer. Days like that are GREAT, but are usually followed by multiple days of begging for just one paragraph to write itself! I better get back to things before they escape me, let's get to the $1000.00 mark for Tourette's! TEAM TSA!
May 7, 2009 First Blog
I decided to start a blog, updating followers on the many things going on. I've been very busy lately: trying to get everything done with Rise of the Sun, writing The Sun Will Fall, boost sales to help TSA and still find time to give my kids a run for their money. Spiffing up my web page seemed to be last on the list. I am in the midst of writing book two, titled "The Sun Will Fall" and I'll be honest with you... writing is a blast--but editing is awfully horrible! It's harder to write this book, just knowing that when I'm finished I'll have to go through and edit again! But the writing is fun and I'm taking book two to a whole new level. Hopefully everyone will be pleasantly surprised with where it goes. I guess if you're not, I didn't fulfill my purpose as a writer at all. I've put up on the Calendar page a tentative release date for The Sun Will Fall... mainly to give me a goal--I seem to work better under pressure! It should be done much sooner than that, however, I wanted to finish the Trilogy shortly after, as book two and book three will want to be read back to back. My kids have been keeping me on my toes lately. Earlier today I asked my youngest to get ready to go to the store. Went back to writing for a few more minutes and when I came out... well I'll post the picture of what I saw. The picture pretty much sums up the chaos of my life! It's great fun though, never the same day! My oldest has Tourette's Syndrome and we've officially hit the mark where medicine no longer works. I suppose it never really did, but it gave us hope. A lot of kids out grow Tourette's, and being only 7, he still has a lot of time for that. The tics don't bother him as much as the obsessive compulsive disorder that comes along with it. He has been having a tough time in school when things don't end up "perfect" (or finished) and many tears have been spilled due to this. His teachers are awesome, the best in the biz, and have given him a new outlook on life! It's really great for him to be with people that can truly help like they do. There isn't help for the tics or the noises, but where he struggles--socially and emotionally--they have been amazing for him! Well that's all I have for today--better get that kid dressed (no it's not snowing--not sure why the gloves and the hat) and head off to the store before the bus hits home and all craziness truly breaks out!
